About this deal

But I would imagine that in later books I’m going to be happy to have the background information that the prequel provides. I read ACOMAF way back in 2018 but seeing as it's one of my favourite books I remember almost every part. This novel is the tale of a human servant at the Crimson Court who finds herself forced to steal from the Fae…If you subscribe to the author’s newsletter via her bio on Instagram, you’ll get this eBook for free. Tiene un worldbuilding fantástico, un sistema de magia muy novedoso y la descripción del mundo Fae hace acordar mucho a A Court of Thorns and Rosesy Under the Mountain.

Lisette Marshall has delivered a powerful start to the Fae Isles series, a wonderfully intense fantasy story with magic, intrigue, politics, all sorts of supernatural beings, and an absolutely kickass lead couple (brave and feisty heroine, a broody, almost-anti-hero with secrets), enemies-to-lovers, fake-romance, and so much chemistry and sexual tension, I almost couldn’t stand it. It's beautifully written, the fantasy world is well developed and fascinating, and the concept of color-magic is so clever. The Silent Death is supposed to be the Mother’s loyal servant, her invincible warrior, her ruthless, soulless killer. When the empire’s deadliest fae murderer catches her wielding forbidden magic, twenty-year-old Emelin believes her hour has come. In Court of Blood and Bindings, Emelin stays behind at home when the entire village celebrates their hard-earned victory over the Fae who had been collecting high tribute payments for decennia.Having said that though, the dynamic between Emelin and Creon was perfect - a broody, mysterious bad boy with more to him than meets the eye, and a plucky young heroine who keeps her wits about her and her tongue just as sharp as her mind.

The one part of the story I really liked is when Emelin and Creon decide to test each other's self-restraint, but if I’m being honest, I expected more of these "midnight encounters". This novel is described on Goodreads as a “steamy assassin fantasy romance” with enemies-to-lovers and grumpy/sunshine tropes. Because the Silent Death is not who he seems, and he has a plan to take our the ruling fae Mother and free those under her control, and he needs Emelin’s help to do it. Very hard to read and get into when the first page of every chapter is missing I put if off as a mistake for first chapter and second but as I got more into the story it was harder cause I could be missing something. He’s the most powerful of his kind, and though he has that broody, cocky arrogance that I love so much in my romantic heroes, he’s also wonderfully witty and he has this quiet vulnerability about him that is absolutely irresistible.Beautifully complex and very much morally grey - if only his character was given more time to open up. The taverna is the only place that Kostas and Defne can meet in secret, hidden beneath the blackened beams from which hang garlands of garlic and chilli peppers, creeping honeysuckle, and in the centre, growing through a cavity in the roof, a fig tree. Unexpectedly, he decides to spare her life and abducts her to the most dangerous place for any human being: the Crimson Court at the heart of the Fae Isles. And according to the residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa - the world's longest-living people - finding it is the key to a longer and more fulfilled life.

Eliminate negativity and change your life with best-selling author, happiness expert and life coach Domonique Bertolucci.I get the author was trying to make her that typical feisty don’t give a shit character but she did an absolutely terrible job at portraying it. She very quickly understands the reality of her new situation and plays her part well, but with her irritatingly stunning captor, she is her true self, and this is where she shines.
