About this deal

She has many secrets which we learn throughout the novel which helps with her character (as well as answering questions from Johnny Be Good) and makes her likeable. she’s the front of house girl who falls in love with Will Trust a racing driver when he comes to her rescue, though like all love stories there’s a twist he’s taken, he’s with his childhood sweetheart. Doesn’t follow his diet plan, stays out late with the mechanics drinking, has a gaggle of women hanging off him most of the time and loves stirring up trouble. The setting of Chasing Daisy revolves around the F1 championship, I liked it … there is a lot of tension from the start and a lot of swearing in Italian, which, accidentally, I can understand …. e. The Hunger Games) but the voice has to be pretty unique for first person point of view to add to the story.

I found Will to be A sweet character, though he loved two woman I wouldn’t say he was a womanizer, he was kind and he didn’t want to hurt anyone. The only downside with this book was that it has kind of spoilt Baby Be Mine by revealing the baby’s father. I usually love Paige Toon novels and I did find myself absorbed in this one, but I just didn’t find it as convincing as her other novels. I also liked all of the minor characters, the mechanics, Frederick, Holly’s boss, Simon, the team boss… I didn’t like Daisy’s mum and dad much, I found her dad too overbearing! Looking down at Wills grave, thinking of the time they had together, she doesn’t no if she loved Will, she new she was infatuated with him but just when they decided to be together he was taken away from her.Understandably, it can be difficult to enjoy a book when the main character (and a lot of the others) make some very morally incorrect actions.

I loved Luis, from his opening exchange with Daisy to the very end, I couldn’t wait for the scenes between him and Daisy. Brief synopsis: Daisy has left America to escape from having her heart broken – and not just by anyone, he’s famous! She is staring to enjoy life again and is going out each night with the gang from work and her new best friend Holly who works alongside her. Full of living-in-the-moment and what-might-have-been contrasts, this tender read pulls at the heart strings’ FABULOUS --This text refers to the paperback edition. She raises this book above the usual chick lit fare by setting the story in the world of Formula 1 racing.Unlike Toon’s other protagonists, Daisy, the main character, was often unlikable and her indecisiveness and over emotive traits irritated and annoyed me to no end. The character of Daisy is strong-headed but vulnerable, in some ways, she’s only ever wanted love and happiness not getting that from her childhood, she’s finally found a place and people who make her happy until her heart is broken. Oh, and if you had read Johnny Be Good and remember Paola, Johnny's former PA before Meg, Daisy is her.
